Let the countdown begin...

When we announced last year that we were getting married in April 2009 many of you couldn’t get your head around us planning so far in advance. But we told you 2008 would go quickly, and look, its October already! Today in 6 months time we will be gathering at Mount Park for the celebration of a lifetime.

In the meantime we’re off to AfrikaBurn next week, AmaFullThrottle for New Year, and then, just round the corner, is the LoveDeclarationCelebration!

Onward to Easter 2009!

1000 Origami Cranes

I have 1000 squares of paper that are waiting to be transformed into 1000 origami cranes! If you are keen to help, let me know via email, and I'll drop off some paper and the instructions.

Happy folding!

No more room at the Inn, but lots of space in the garden.

We drove out to a very snowy Mount Park this weekend to have another look see at the venue and figure out who is going to sleep where. Lucky for those of you who have booked beds, there are just enough beds for all of you.

As for the rest of you - start dusting off your tent, check your inflatable mattress for punctures and fluff out your sleeping bag.

It was hard to imagine on Saturday when we took this photo of the camping meadow, but you will be camping on beautiful green lawns surrounded by trees.

ACCOMODATION

I've just realised that I've been dishing out incorrect information regarding the prices of the accomodation. So let me set the record straight:

There are 30 beds, spread between the main house, and 3 cabins. The beds are filling up fast, so if you haven't already asked me to set one aside for you, do so soonest. Those of you who have booked beds, will need to pay a 50% deposit by end September. The beds cost R150/person per night. We will be there for 3 nights (it's Easter, remember?). Oh and bedding and towels are provided.

Those of you who are camping, will need to pay R50/person per night. This can be paid on the weekend. The camping area is beautifully grassy, with ample ablution facilities.
I still need to figure out who I'm going to ask to do the job of collecting the money on the weekend - any volunteers?
The deposit can be paid into the following account:
ABSA
AJ CASE
Branch code: 632 005
Account no: 38146461023
Please send me the confirmation of payment, together with your name and how many people it's for, so I can keep track of what's what.

Back On The Road Again

Ok, I know it’s been a while since I last updated this here wedblog, but I must confess that, unlike other bridezillas to be, my wedding is not the only thing on my mind. But with the Love Declaration Celebration now a mere 8 months away I suppose now would be the right time to slowly put the wheels in motion.

Here’s the first of many requests:

Do any of you have any of the following that you would be able to bring with for us to use?

Bamboo paraffin lanterns (similar to those in the pic)
Fairy lights (preferably the non-flashing variety)
Trestle tables

If so, please let me know on abicase@gmail.com

FOUND: 1X AWESOME VENUE

We drove out to the Midlands on Saturday to scout out the venue for the LDC (Love Declaration Celebration). A couple of gravel roads and one flat tyre later, we arrived at Mount Park. What a spot! Wow, it’s absolutely beautiful. Check out the photo for a little taste of what to expect.

Think big old farmhouse nestled against a mountain, with a sweeping view across the Midlands, a dinky little trout fishing dam (which can be used for swimming if you don’t mind swimming with the fishies) and rolling green lawns with English country garden style flowers and flutterbyes.

In addition to the 18 beds in the main house, there’s a collection of cottages and cabins with a further 18 beds. Those of you with lighties will most definitely be housed in the accommodation, and for the rest of you it will be dished out on a first-come-first-served basis. For those of you not accommodated in the quaint quarters, there is a beautiful meadow covered in luscious lawn in which to camp, with ample ablution facilities.

Central to all of this is a thatched bar area with a deck looking out to the great blue yonder which will no doubt be the hub of the festivities. And for those of you who might be feeling active there are walks to be had on the mountain behind the farm.

So are you excited yet? I am…..!
